Story of HotK
We all started playing World of Warcraft right when the game came out. Made Hammer of the Kings, and it was a race to level 60. Everything was well; we were all playing and having a great time. As we all started to approach the level cap, everyone wanted to do more as a guild. Many in the guild were happy with a casual playing style. Others wanted to start raiding. Problem with this was we didn't have number of members that raiding demanded.
Was Hammer of the Kings to start recruiting and gearing up for end game content?
It all came down to what the officers and the guild master decided. Frank wanted to stay more casual, and keep the guild on a smaller level. Everyone else wanted to raid. At this time HotK was going down a rough path. Frank resigned as guild master and handed it off to Tom. The guild was having trouble with recruiting and maintaining a consistent raiding schedule. We were doing combined guild runs with two other guilds Jacks of all Trades, and The Guardians.
Due to guild politics, and the lack of HotK members in the raid, we were forced to either quit raiding or disband HotK, and join TG. We ended up taking the core group from HotK and combined our efforts with TG. It was around this point that Frank claimed to have quit the game, Jozef quit the game, Collin and Tom went to TG along with a couple of core members from HotK.
At this point many of us remained in TG for close to a year. We just raided and played the game very casually. After about 6 months of us being in TG as Hammers, we found out Frank was far from quitting the game. The actual truth was that he played on another server, got a character up to 60, and was in a top raiding guild. Though it seemed he deceived us, later he discussed the reason why he did not join us when we went to TG was in his efforts to defend our friend Jozef, and try to keep him from quitting the game. Jozef was unable to keep up to a raiding playing style, and he was also upset with how everyone in the guild was fighting. Frank still enjoyed playing World of Warcraft.
We then all put aside our differences and then invited him to come back to our home server, and play with us in TG. He gladly accepted and we were then all playing again on the same server. We continued to raid with TG for quite some time. TG picked up some core members from another guild called Evolution. These core members were a bit more rebellious than most. Everyone from HotK were upset with the way TG was being ran. So due to guild politics, we teamed up with the Evolution team and then decided to break off from TG in our attempt to rebuild an entirely new guild.
This new guild was named Vendetta. The name most of us didn't like, but it was decided on a days notice. Needless to say this guild didn't last long. We lacked members, there was no consistency with raiding. Many of us from the original HotK core group were willing to stick it out. A big problem came out of no where. The core members from Evolution that came with us to Vendetta screwed the guild over, and left to go back to there home guild Evolution. One of those members was Vendetta's guild master. So now that Vendetta was gutted and now missing 2 officer, and a guild master, we had no choice but to disband Vendetta. Good reddens!
Hammer of the Kings was back and better than ever. The guild is all mainly real life friends, and a very tightly knit group. We are all still going to school and working, so we do not have time to maintain a raiding schedule. We all are pvping together and chilling in our ventrillo server talking about our days. Now that HotK is back, we then convinced our friend Jozef to give World of Warcraft one last try. He agreed and now has a level 70 Shaman. We enjoy most of our days in game pvping and playing on our 5 man arena team. We are far from being the best far from being the worst.
Wrath of of Lich King is here! We have wiped the dust off our toons and started the race to 80. It didn't take us much more than a few weeks to get there. This is something we are not necessarily proud of. Droya has been retired once again. All that is left of HotK is Collin, Frank, and Tom. We are starting the grind all over again. PVP honor grind and Arenas take up most of our time in the game. After doing a 10 game set of arenas, we came to realize how over powered Arcane Mages, Ret palis, and rogues really are. When you have this many over powered classes running around in the game, it isn't fun anymore. PVP in WotlK is absolute crap. PVP isn't fun when you get killed knowing there is nothing you could have done about it. So we are currently hanging out our mains to collect dust, and now rerolling. Frank is working on his rogue, Tom is working on a mage, and Collin is going to hang on to his Death Knight. All that matters is that we are all keeping in touch and playing a game we all still enjoy!
